In this 6-week ALL LEVELS screenwriting course, we’ll revisit who we were in high school, roll around in the cringey nostalgia, do an archeological dig in our moms’ basements, dust off any old shame, fall in love with our V1 prototypes, and from this tender and hilarious place craft an achingly specific high school heroine for the ages. Not “you” necessary—though perhaps pieces of you, folded into an exquisitely awesome new character. We’re taking a deep dive into the teen genre, with a focus on the classics, the innovators, and most importantly: what HASN’T been done in the teen space yet. How can our teen script concepts harness the undeniable power that is the teen agony-humiliation-dream trifecta to create a story that offers broader representation, and pushes creative boundaries.
You’ll meet at least twice 1:1 with Lauren on Zoom, for hands-on support and guidance as your idea starts to come to life—AND throughout the 6 weeks, Lauren is always available for 1:1 support in “office hours.”
